Our Mission

Indigenous peoples, who live in ancestral territories rich in natural diversity and resources and preserve the natural environment for future generations, have long been excluded from political, economic and social decision-making processes that influence and affect their lives. Despite their lack of significant financial or administrative resources to defend their right to their own development, they have always been strong in spirit and solidarity. Their vision of the outside world, based on respect and justice, guides them. Understanding these concepts, we want to expand indigenous peoples’ opportunities for their development at the local and national level. Moreover, we want to help strengthen their active integration into international cooperations. We want global processes to account for indigenous peoples’ visions for the world; we also want those processes to build upon indigenous peoples’ values, such as caring for the world around us.
